I used to think tourist buses were a form of cheating.  Sightseeing part time and looking at the sights on the run. Years later I have changed my take on that. I now look at open top tourist buses in a completely different way. They are great to get a feel for a new city and the perfect way to start sightseeing. Throw a child in the mix and tourist buses become a life savior and your answer to back pain! Barcelona Bus Turistic covers three routes, Red, Blue and Green. Routes last for about 2 hours each with the exception of the Green route, which is much shorter and only takes 40 minutes. All three routes cover important landmarks and you can hop on and off as you want as the ticket lasts all day so you can really take your time and stop at the sights you like to visit more in depth.  At a small extra cost you may choose to go for the ticket that is valid for two consecutive days that gives you complete sightseeing freedom.  But that's not all. The routes cross over at certain stops so you have total control of the journey and you can cut a route short and hop onto another any time you want. Barcelona Bus Turistic runs daily all year round with the exception of the Green route, which is not active during winter. The Green route normally runs from April through to the end of September, but this year it was initiated on Friday 26th of March. For fares, route maps and online reservations visit Barcelona Bus Turistic.
