The Antoni Tàpies Foundation provides an exhibition dedicated to the author, which is presented following a chronological order, from the 1940s to today’s date. This exhibition allows us to follow the artist’s formal evolution by means of a renewed selection of his works. During the journey, viewers can appreciate the evolution of the typologies, techniques and materials which the artist used and which happen to be very unconventional, such as marble powder, sand or earth. This interest is reflected in early works such as ‘Zoom’ (1946) and in others belonging to his mature period, such as ‘Materia y Cartones’ (2006). All of which have a common link, the aim to unveil the value of things, regardless of their simplicity or poorness. Finally, the exhibition also reflects the importance which Tàpies gave to music as an art with great power for evocation, as can be seen in works such as ‘Puerta metálica y violín’ (1956) or ‘Concierto’ (1985) and even a workshop and two concerts surrounding this theme.
