Josep Pla is best known as the writer who created awareness of the close reality of the scenery and people of his country. However, he has another equally as interesting facet. This is Josep Pla, the journalist and press correspondent for over 20 years. Since 1920 he worked for Catalonian newspapers such as La Publicitat and La Veu, as well as for El Sol from Madrid. The exhibition “The European Cities of Josep Pla” exhibits exactly this European facet of the author and provides a concise overview of Pla’s exposure of the European reality he lived through. So, cities such as Paris, London, Madrid, Berlin, Rome or Athens are analysed by Pla and can be experienced in this exhibition which has been programmed for the public at the Palau Robert.
