Gràcia is a picturesque district of Barcelona with quaint squares and characteristic narrow streets which are often lively with the many street parties throughout the year. In August Gràcia becomes the centre of the city for partying with its main street celebration Fiesta Major. To the north of the district is its main attraction, Parc Guell. This Gaudi creation is one of the most famous and original parks in Europe, where the mark of its creator is present in the eccentric sculptures and mosaic seatings in which elements of nature mix with imaginary ones such as the ever present dragon. The area offers great views over the city and is perfect to visit at sunset. The narrow streets have a multitude of artisan shops and independent boutiques as well as a selection of cocktails bars and restaurants which make it very trendy with the young crowd.
